Digital data storage

IDCS offers and manages various data storage infrastructures to meet the growing and varied needs of scientific projects and platforms at École Polytechnique and its partners.

These infrastructures come in several types:

  • "Mass-capacitive storage" or "Large-capacitive storage", ranging from 1 petabyte to several petabytes, intended for ‘warm’ or “cold” storage needs, used by platforms such as microscopy.
  • High-performance storage, ranging from 100 gigabytes to several hundred gigabytes, designed for “hot” storage needs, used by platforms such as high-performance computing clusters.
  • Depending on their uses, these infrastructures are secured and distributed across several sites to meet the requirements of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
